PANDION opens historic vault on Open Monument Day

September 2021

On the occasion of the Open Monument Day on the weekend of 11 and 12 September 2021, PANDION Berlin branch will open the more than 100-year-old vaulted cellars of the former Böhmische Brewery in Friedrichshain, which are located in the immediate vicinity of PANDION MIDTOWN. The vault is around 3,500 square metres in size and is normally closed to the public. Under natural conditions, the beer barrels in the Bohemian Brewery were stored here at cool temperatures.

The listed vaulted cellars at Friedenstraße 92 can be visited on 11 and 12 September from 12 to 4 p.m. on your own and with sturdy footwear. In addition, a Berlin city guide will lead tours of the vaults every hour at 12, 1, 2 and 3 p.m. during the weekend and reveal one or two historical anecdotes. If you are interested in a guided tour, you can register for a guided tour in German at event@pandion.de.

The entrance is at the end of Friedenstraße, indented next to the brick building "Neue Mälzerei", below the staircase.
